I love the phrase “layered, collected, lived in and loved.”  In fact, this concept drives me in all I do in the world of design.  This approach allows for a sprinkling of the wild, weird and wonderful.  All of which, in my opinion make a fantastic space.  I use words and phrases like layered, sprinkled, dotted, artfully placed to describe a piece of the puzzle.  It’s this ability to  both include and see beyond the actual object that allows us all to create a space that truly expresses who we are.  If we take away the rest of the moving parts, and just look at the object the whole thing may seem just, well…. deranged.  I’ll give you an example. Vision Boards and the power of getting all WOO-WOO for JOY!

Suzi and I can attest- these darn vision boards work.  For those of you who do NOT love visual stuff- then writing out a vision for your own future can also be POWERFUL.      Whatever way sounds most FUN and easy to think about your vision is best for YOU.  Jeanette Maw has a wonderful process called “Pray Rain Journaling”-  where you grab a small notebook and write 2 pages a day about what it’s like (in present tense) to have all the stuff you want to manifest ALREADY.  So- for instance- if you want to lose weight- it might look like this “dear diary- today was amazing!   Wearing those jeans I love feels amazing- and they are a little bit loose- which is just so fun!   I was able to run up 4 flights of stairs today with my kids at the school- and I was barely winded- what an amazing feeling”—–you get the picture.   The idea is to ALLOW yourself to feel and expereince all the good stuff that you are wanting NOW.  I did it for my coaching practice when I was just getting started and it worked frightfully well (:  So if writing (more…)

Sarah shows you her own process for creating a vision board and things she is working on-  create your own!  There is no right or wrong way- make it a fun process-  grab some magazines, a glue stick , some poster board and get started!!
