How We Work
We’ve done the research. Our happiest clients are those we’ve taken the time to get to know.
When you hire us, we’ll sit down and have conversations. We’ll ask lots of questions about how you live in your home, what’s working about your space and what’s not, and what you new vision is. This is about more than designing a room. It’s about designing your life.
To help you design the highly personal space of your home, we use a design process that reflects as much of you as possible. You end up with an authentic space that’s just for you and you avoid the costly design mistakes that come from not taking the time to really understand your needs and desires.
Our process is a collaboration, a fun journey of discovery. We don’t do it for you, we do it with you. We take everything we learn about you and your space, interpret it through our design sensibility and experience, and create a design board that visually brings together all the elements – from the overall concept and floor plan to paint colors, fabric, details, and artwork. We show you the design board, pay attention to your response, and make adjustments. We can go on from there with further details and scheduling.
The process, starting with our first meeting and ending with our presentation of the design board, takes ten to twelve hours per room, depending on the size of the room. Design and coordination services beyond the presentation of the vision board are optional and billed separately. The design board and all the details are yours to keep.
Based on your design board, we can create a plan and consider your overall budget, breaking down the costs and implementing the plan as you are ready.
We charge by the hour rather than basing our fee on a percentage of the materials you buy through us. This gives us more freedom to design with the pieces you already have and want to keep, like Aunt Betty’s beautiful old couch.
Our rate is $110 per hour Our minimum design service is 10-12 hours per room from the first meeting through the design board presentation.
Ongoing design services are billed separately.

We also offer a “Down and Dirty“ (don’t worry no dirt involved (: ) in home consulation- you get two designers for 100-120 minutes for 200 bananas (that is dollars ) We will give you as many paint colors for as many rooms as you have, rearrange furniture, throw out ideas and show you how to work with what you have. You tell us what you need and we will focus the session on that!! Drag out the magazine clippings,dreams and write down all your questions…..fasten your sealtbelts lets go!!
