Joyful salutations!
April 14, 2010
I am a co-conspirator, color junkie, apprentice to authenticity, and a partner in purposeful design.
I am Kim Stromgren, newest resident of Joy Junket–the cyberspace village where soul-searching designers thrive on fun, new citizens are welcomed daily, and anything is possible.
Six months ago I answered the question: What makes me come alive? I had recently walked away from an unfulfilling job and was ready, once and for all, to tap my intuition, and do what she said! What followed was a string of thoughts and phrases that went something like this:
What makes my soul sing?
Coming up with the perfect solution to a problem.
Striking up conversations with just about anyone.
Kissing my kids goodnight.
I love working with beautiful fabrics and lush textiles–I love the feel of them through my fingers.
Coffee–mmm.
I love Lake Superior.
I love Canal Park.
Helping people.
Connecting on a deep level with other women.
Laughter!
Being around positive people.
Wonder.
Magic.
Joy.
Our endlessly fascinating universe did not disappoint. Today I find myself working in a bright and airy studio looking out over Canal Park and the greatest of lakes, spending my time with two amazing, forever evolving, highly intelligent and talented women, playing with stunning fabrics, gorgeous furniture, and meeting terrific clients who welcome us into their homes and lives.
I am thrilled to be here. Joy Junket is the rollicking town square where workshops, coaching, and Kitchee Gammi Design Co. resides. I couldn’t be happier about joining in. Thank you Suzi and Sarah for opening you door, and keeping the coffee hot.
