Falling for Fall….

Mongolian Lamb Pillow and all accessories Westelm.com
When you get a chance to look at some of your favorite magazines and catalogs this fall, I think you’ll notice how the color palette has gone VERY neutral… when you’re working with a neutral palette it’s nice to add some texture to create interest and keep the eye moving around the room.
This Monglian Lamb Pillow is soft and textured, and looks great on a leather or fabric sofa. I am loving grey right now, especially with white.
This handknit throw is a great addition to a chair, ottoman or a sofa, I love it in white, and fall feels like we need to cozy up and wrap ourselves in luxury! It’s chunky and textured so it feels rich and warm even though it’s a neutral.
Don’t forget a rug! Hey, you can put this right on top of your carpet if it’s a low pile or loop style. A rug can do wonders to define a seating area and a neutral shag can work almost anywhere.
Hey, we don’t necessarily need to spend a lot of money to get our houses in shape for fall…. how about making a commitment to taking a few bags to your local Goodwill store? Getting rid of some clutter? Filling an old wooden bowl with a variety of apples looks great and provides a healthy snack as well!!!! Hey, just lighting a cinnamon scented candle goes a long way toward making a house feel like a home this time of year.
I think my favorite thing about fall is that it reminds me that Mother Nature is always making room for what’s next. In my case, this time of year reminds me that there’s more to look forward to, plan for and relish, and I want my home and my mind free of clutter so I can enjoy it!!
What are you looking forward to as the season changes? Do you have a favorite Fall tradition?
