Dunmore Cream, Toasted Bagel, Spiced Apple, Pecan Pie….. It’s NO WONDER I feel like running to the nearest bakery shortly after selecting paint colors for a favorite customer!!!!  Really, they make these colors seem sooooo irresistible that what could go wrong when we pick something called Lemon Pie… only to put a little of it up and run screaming from the room???  Yep, that’s the dilemma of selecting paint, we know because let’s face it, we’ve been there too… now and then even I pick a stinker. 

There was a time I started to realize that many of my favorite paint samples were missing from my travelling paint case… COULD IT BE??  I seemed to have turned into the proverbial ONE TRICK PONY when it came to paint selection… Now I don’t recommend the same paint for EVERYONE, but there are several colors that are my favorites and tried and trues… slam dunks, home runs, and touchdowns, (wow, I AM a one trick pony, especially with the sports metaphors!) 

For instance, I have strong opinions about what types of blues go best with white painted woodwork, and what greens I like in a bedroom, what is a great red, and what to shy away from even in the best of circumstances… I know we always say “It’s JUST PAINT!”, you can redo it if it’s not right!!!  But the fact is, it’s also our TIME, our MONEY, our SANITY, and our WEEKEND.. so let’s try and get it right the first time if possible. 

That’s why I’ve come up with some ONE TRICK PONY paint selections that I use again and again with a lot of success.  I have some great color combinations, ideas for painting accent walls, bedrooms, bathrooms, and ceilings. I’ve thrown in a few ideas for taking things to the next step with suggestions for textures, patterns and furnishings that will complete a look. 

These paint colors will be available as a download on our site within the next few days.  So get those paint clothes out, clean up the brushes, and arm yourself with a good roller or better yet a professional painter! Or you can get the actual samples at your local Benjamin Moore store and just carry them around in your purse for inspiration!  Benmoore.com  is an amazing website that will give you great ideas and a full compliment of great colors, including their Pottery Barn line of paint and their great line of Affinity colors.
